Australian blackwood has a beautiful coppery colour and a metallic sheen to the wood. It is a member of the acacia family and has a character very similar to koa.
This soprano ukulele has minimal decoration, just a slim rosette around the sound hole and mother of pearl fretboard dots.
The neck is vintage Brazilian mahogany I sourced over 10 years ago and the fretboard is pao ferro.
The instrument is fitted with Grover style 6 friction tuners and fluorocarbon strings. The finish is hand rubbed truoil varnish.
