This soprano ukulele is one of the prettiest sopranos I have made. The back and sides are old-stock curly koa, matched with a subtly-figured top in European spruce.
The fingerboard is Granadilla. I especially like the dark contrasting stripe in this piece. The headstock is faced with some more of the curl-figured koa and is equipped with my favourite Grove 6B friction tuners.
There is an exceptionally nice stripe, colour and curl figure to the koa in the back and sides. I bought this wood from another luthier who had kept it in stock for 10+ years. The sides are made from the same board as the back, so there’s a perfect colour match.
A strip of cream coloured ABS plastic protects the edges of the spruce top. The neck is made from reclaimed Brazilian mahogany.
