Here’s a pineapple style soprano in an unusual specification.
The body is reclaimed Brazilian mahogany, the neck is mahogany / maple 3 ply construction showing the distinctive maple centre stripe in the back of the neck. The body style is pineapple shape, with a thinner than usual body approximately 40mm deep. I’m really pleased with the quilt figure on the back of this ukulele. This is made from wood I’ve had in store for almost 10 years.
The fretboard is pao ferro and the neck is slightly wider than standard at 37mm across the nut. I am hearing more and more from customers looking for wide neck instruments and I feel 37mm is a good option to aid playability without looking strange.
For easy tuning, this soprano ukulele is fitted with Grover 9NB geared tuners.
