We just added two new galleries to the site. Our first ever Koa uke has left the building (and is winging its way to the most excellent Ukulelezaza as we type this). The Koa ukulele is a soprano with a Bearclaw Spruce top. It’s got cream edge-binding and a few other details we are quite pleased with. It is quite loud and has the kind of sound you might expect from a much older/vintage ukulele. We now that it’s not always the done thing (putting Spruce on top of Koa) but we think it produces a unique and lovely sound. It saw lots of attention recently at Cheltenham and we could not be happier to see it headed for its new home
We also posted pictures of a solid-body electric ukulele. It’s a longneck soprano with a lovely Quilt-maple top. We’ve been making a lot more longneck sopranos and we suspect they make good gigging instruments (as we see them turn up on stage quite often). As always, if you’re interested in such a ukulele (whether highly custom or more traditional) do get in touch.
