This soprano ukulele represents my most affordable model. Body and neck are made from reclaimed meranti wood, a lightweight hardwood with an open pore structure which results in a very bright, responsive instrument.
For the fretboard and bridge I have chosen reclaimed utile wood. This timber is being used by some other makers under the name ‘sipo.’
Minimalist plastic marker dots, non-branded friction tuners and corian nut and saddle complete the construction.
The ukulele is finished with hand rubbed truoil varnish and is strung with clear fluorocarbon strings.
