The body wood for this concert ukulele is sapele, sourced from offcuts I purchased from a joiners’ workshop in Todmorden. Offered at my most affordable price point, the style is my simplest option, with no decorations and minimalist fret marker dots in off-white plastic. It goes without saying that there is no compromise in the sound, playability or quality. Note that there is some colour variation in the reclaimed wood on the back of the body.
The fretboard is responsibly harvested ebony, reclaimed from offcuts sourced from a major tonewoods supplier.
The neck is khaya and has a slightly shallower profile than standard.
